Pond's Lodge

Service was good but the food was, at best, very mediocre. The menu has been pared back as the quality has declined over the past several years. Ponds used to be our favorite place in Island Park to enjoy a good meal and wide selection of beverages, sadly we are searching for a new go-to place. I ordered the chicken pot pie, while the flavor was good there was no identifiable chicken. My wife ordered the blue cheese burger which came out dry and overcooked

It's a nice place. It was remodeled a few years ago. They sell gas and a few very basic items. Be prepared for sticker shock. It's worth the gas to go a few more miles to Sam Patch if you need any groceries. We bought some cheese whiz($11.00), crackers. A couple small Ice creams, chips and ice and it was $100. Even the cashier looked shocked. I've stopped in for lunch a few times and it's a nice sports pub type restaurant. I haven't stayed in a cabin here for 20 plus years so I won't speak to that.

We found this gem while traveling from Yellowstone down through Idaho. I had read that they had gluten-free pizza, so we decided to give them a try since half our group has Celiac Disease and must eat gluten-free. The server was very knowledgeable as her grandpa has CD, and her mom must avoid gluten and she explained the process for avoiding gluten, although there is always a risk. We decided to go without the pizza sauce as it is a shared container, and we couldn't risk the cross contamination, so essentially we had white pizza - YUM. We had the most amazing gluten-free cheese bread I have ever had in my life, and my non gluten free husband, niece, and step-dad agreed. We got two cheese breads, and between the seven of us, there wasn't a gluten-free crumb left. Two of us with Celiac are very, very sensitive and did not react. The other two who are gluten intolerant also did not react. Their menu also listed naked wings gluten-free and some other things. Great pizza and great service!

Went for the restaurant. Appetizers were good. We got the cheesy bread sticks, short ribs poutine, and tater skins. For entrees, we got the Hawaiian pizza, veggie pizza, beet salad, Josh Roth and Henry River burgers and the spicy penne. Everything was…ok. Burgers were kinda bland and dry, but cooked well. Needed sauce. Penne was also lacking flavor.

Never mind all the reviews about overpriced low quality food and poor service. These folks are simply bad people in general. I watched tonight as their manager protected a 6' swath across the front of the restaurant that must "stay clear" at all cost while they sent a woman in a wheelchair to wait in her car because they weren't able to seat her party at that time. They refused to let others give up their table or make any attempt to accommodate her in any way. The entire scene was disgusting.

Do NOT patronize! The guy who owns this place is the rudest individual I have ever dealt with! Plus the bathrooms were a total mess! This always makes me wonder what kind of shape the kitchen is in? Food was marginal and very over priced. Waitress told me they have have a full bar, and then I asked for five different beverages that she said they could not make. I stayed in Island Park on business for two weeks. I tried several other places there that were far and above the quality and had better price points as well. I asked several local people about Ponds and all of them gave a terrible review and told me to stay away. So my visit wasn’t just some fluke. I would challenge the good reviews you read here as being paid for by the owner. That’s his speed and reputation.
